Становлення і духовно-соціальний розвиток греко-католицької парафії св. Климента в Празі в 1930-х рр.

Abstract

У статті йдеться про активну діяльність о. Василя Гопка, єпископа Павла Гойдича, багатьох доброчинців та державних урядовців для створення празької парафії в міжвоєнній історії Греко-Католицької Церкви Чехословаччини. Парафія розмістилася в костьолі св. Климента. Діяльність її першого пароха о. Василя Гопка, як і його наступників, мала велике значення для опіки над греко-католицькою молоддю, емігрантами до Америки з Підкарпаття та Пряшівщини, безробітними та загалом для надання духовної опіки вихідцям із східної частини держави. Заснування парафії і її юридичне оформлення було непростою справою й тривало роками. Врешті у 1934 р. о. Василя Гопка офіційно призначено парохом, котрий став духовним батьком і організатором вірників навколо приходу св. Климента. Велике значення мала соціальна опіка над емігрантами і заробітчанами, так як серед більшості греко-католицької громади переважали студенти, різноробочі, прислуга та військові, котрі не мали достатнього заробітку для підтримки власної парафії. Більше того, сам о. Василь Гопко та інші представники громади, влаштовували обіди, подарунки для незаможних парафіян (одяг та взуття), здійснювали допомогу емігрантам через товариство св. Рафаеля, надаючи духовну, перекладацьку та навігаційну підтримку. Старання урядовців до створення приходу греко-католиків у Празі були досить помірними, проте наявність таких приходів у сусідніх столицях змушувало уряд до певних дій. Загалом треба наголосити, що Чехословацька держава уникала безпосереднього фінансування майбутньої парафії, а тому для цього було переведено утримання з приходу Пакаштова. Чехословацька влада (уряд) матеріально долучилася до створення фари, надавши частину університетської бібліотеки. Безумовно, великим був подарунок від празьких католиків в особі архієпископа Франтішека Кордача, котрий подарував костьол св. Климента, що став окрасою греко-католицької громади. The article is about the activity of priest Vasil Hopko, Bishop Paul Goydich, many benefactors and government officials in the creation of the Prague parish during the interwar history of the Greek Catholic Church of Czechoslovakia. No wonder that almost all bishops and Greek Catholic faithful from all over the world was taken care about parish. The parish was housed in the church of St. Clement. The activities of its first pastor priest Vasil Hopka, as well as his followers, had a huge weight for the guardianship of Greek Catholic youth, immigrants to America from the Subcarpathians and Presov regions, the unemployed and, in general, the provision of spiritual care for immigrants from the eastern part of the state. The foundation of the parish and its legal formulation was a complicated matter and lasted for years. Finally, in 1934, priest Vasyl Hopko was officially appointed by the pastor, who became the spiritual father and organizer of the faithful around the parish of St. Clement in Prague. The great importance had the parish social care about emigrants and migrant workers, as most of the Greek Catholic community was dominated by students, unskilled workers, servants and military personnel who didn’t have enough income to support their own parish. Moreover, Vasyl Hopko and other community representatives, arranged lunches, gifts for poor parishioners (clothing and footwear). They provided assistance to emigrants through St. Raphael association, providing spiritual, translation and navigational support. The government's efforts to create a Greek-Catholic parish in Prague were modest, but the presence of such parishes in neighboring capitals forced the government to take certain steps. In general, it should be emphasized that the Czechoslovak state avoided direct funding for the future parish, and therefore for this enterprise the financing was transferred from the parish of Pakashtov. The Czechoslovak authorities made a financial contribution to the creation of the headlight, providing part of the university library. Of course, the greatest was a gift from the Prague Catholics in the person of Archbishop Frantsek Kordach, who presented the church of St. Clement, which became an ornament of the Greek Catholic community in Prague.
