Politická reprezentácia etnických maďarov na Slovensku v období demokratickej transformácie: stav, trendy, výzvy

Abstract

The Slovak Republic is a state with a significant share of ethnic minorities in the country’s total population. The largest minority is the Hungarian minority. Its political representation, which was formed after the fall of the communist regime and the restoration of democracy, has been an integral part of the democratic political process for three decades. However, after the parliamentary elections in February 2020, Slovak citizens of Hungarian lost their authentic representation in parliament due to the excessive fragmentation of the Hungarian segment of the Slovak party system and the inability of representatives of political formations based on the support of voters of Hungarian origin to overcome it. The author analyzes the performance of Hungarian parties in Slovakia in the years 1990–2020 and the factors influencing their political weight in the context of the overall position of the Hungarian ethnic minority. He discusses the process offorming and development of the Hungarian political scene in the Slovak Republic, the position of its individual actors within the Slovak system of political parties, their mutual interactions as well as interactions with other parties, including their performance in the ruling coalitions. Author presents and analyzes the results of the Hungarian parties in the parliamentary, municipal, regional and European elections, their contexts and consequences. Словацька Республіка – держава зі значною часткою національних меншин у загальній чисельності населення країни. Найчисленніша меншість – угорська. Її політична репрезентація, сформована після падіння комуністичного режиму і відновлення демократії, є невід'ємною частиною демократичного політичного процесу протягом трьох десятиліть, проте після парламентських виборів у лютому 2020 року громадяни Словаччини угорської національності втратили своє автентичне представництво в парламенті через надмірну фрагментацію угорського сегмента словацької партійної системи і нездатність представників політичних формувань, що спираються на підтримку виборців угорського походження, подолати її. Автор аналізує діяльність угорських партій у Словаччині в 1990-2020 рр. і фактори, що впливають на їх політичну вагу в контексті загального становища угорської національної меншини, розглядає процес формування і розвитку угорської політичної сцени в Словацькій Республіці. У статті проаналізовано результати угорських партій на парламентських, муніципальних і регіональних виборах, а також на виборах до Європейського парламенту, їх контексти і наслідки.
