| Abstract: | Osteoporosis is а disease characterised bу а loss of bone mass and density, leading to reduced bone strength. Osteoporosis is know as the "silent epidemic". One in eight men over the age of 50 worldwide are consideed at risk of the disease. Up to 20 % of реорІе who have hip fracture die within one year and only half regain their mobility. Wherever life expectancy increases, the number of реорІе affected bу osteoporosis will increase dramatically. |
