Міфологема «дім» у творах Кадзуо Ішіґуро

Abstract

У статті проаналізовано специфіку художнього втілення міфологеми «дім» на прикладі романів англійського письменника японського походження Кадзуо Ішіґуро, в яких чітко простежується багатозначне й глибоке психологічне трактування ролі домашнього вогнища в житті особистості. Визначено сутність поняття «міфологема»; розглянуто символічне значення в житті людини домівки, що належить до центральних духовно-культурних понять у будь-якому суспільному середовищі; окреслено відмінності трактування міфологеми дому в рам- ках європейської та японської культур; виявлено особливості індивідуальної інтерпретації міфологеми дому в романах К. Ішіґуро, що дає змогу глибше зрозуміти індивідуальний стиль автора. Власне, встановлено, що наявність домашнього затишку – основа людського життя, хоча й не завжди усвідомлена. Домівка є зменшеною моделлю всесвіту, освоєним та «одомашненим» простором, де людина почувається в безпеці. Міфологема дому набуває одне з центральних місць у творчості письменника як архетипний знак із певною семантикою. У романах К. Ішіґуро символ дому відіграє важливу роль на різних рівнях: сюжетному, семантичному, образному. Будинок у літературних творах автора виступає сакральним простором окремої особистості чи цілого роду. Образ дому тісно пов’язаний із проблемою ідентичності, оскільки будинок втілює в собі втрачену в результаті еміграції цілісність сприйняття світу і свого місця в ньому. Коли під впливом деструктивних факторів, таких як війна, революція чи соціальна дестабілізація, втрачається або занепадає дім, це призводить до самотності й неприкаяності людської душі. Втрата власного безпечного будинку призводить до відчуття безвихідності й абсурдності існування, а також передає настрій і стан духу сучасної епохи. Особливістю романів Ішіґуро є те, що дім як особистий простір існує лише у спогадах героїв. В архетипному образі домівки виникають ознаки антидому. Вимушено залишивши рідні стіни, герої перебувають у тимчасових притулках: готелях, найманих квартирах, хостелах. Мрія віднайти затишок рідного дому – надзвичайно значуща для героїв, але нездійсненна в реальному житті.

The specifics of artistic representation of the «home» mythology in the novels of a British novelist of Japanese origin Kazuo Ishiguro, in which multidimensional and profound psychological interpretation of the role of home in the life of the individual can be clearly traced, have been analyzed in the article. The essence of the concept of “mythology” has been determined; the symbolic significance of home in the life of a person has been analyzed; the differences between the interpretation of the home mythology in the framework of European and Japanese cultures have been indicated; the role of the house and the peculiarities of the individual interpretation of the home mythology in the novels of K. Ishiguro have been analyzed, which makes it possible to understand the individual style of the author more deeply. Conducted investigation proved that the home mythology occupies one of the central places in literary works of K. Ishiguro as an archetypal symbol with certain semantics. The symbol of the house plays an important role at different levels: plot, semantic and figurative. The image of home belongs to the central spiritual and cultural concepts in any social environment. Home comfort is the dominant of people’s life, although not always realized. The house serves as sacred space for an individual or the whole family in the novels of K. Ishiguro. When, under the influence of destructive factors such as war, revolution and social destabilization, one’s own safe home is lost, it leads to the feeling of loneliness, hopelessness, absurdity of existence, and also transmits the mood and state of spirit of the modern era. Representation of home is closely linked with the problem of identity, since the house embodies the loss of the unity of perception of the world and one’s place in it as a result of emigration. The feature of Ishiguro’s novels is that the house personal space exists only in the memories of heroes. Forced to leave their homes, the characters live in temporary shelters: hotels, rented apartments, hostels. The dream of finding the comfort of home is extremely significant for heroes, but infeasible in real life.
