«Завойовник Європи» Івана Корсака: психологічні портрети героїв

Abstract

У статті звернуто увагу на те, що залучення засобів художнього психологізму допомагає письменникам створити образи історичних особистостей, які відзначаються невеликою інформацією та чималою часовою віддаленістю. Коментується внесок Івана Корсака у розвиток української історичної романістики. Названо імена дослідників (В. Коскін, М. Слабошпицький, Д. Степовик, Н. Токар), які відстежили ключові риси творчої манери письменника. Оскільки в романі «Завойовник Європи» інтерпретуються події ХІІІ століття, то мета нашої розвідки полягає в з’ясуванні стратегій творення образів головних героїв. Окремими завданнями є виокремлення ситуацій, що розкривають зовнішній вигляд Ростислава Михайловича та Анни; встановлення складників психологічних портретів персонажів. Під час аналізу використано історико-порівняльний метод, який допоміг встановити відображені в романі історичні ситуації та зрозуміти вмотивованість дій персонажів. Наголошено, що висвітлення життя та діяльності руського князя Ростислава Михайловича в класичній українській історіографії позначене негативними характеристиками. Натомість І. Корсак у своєму романі створив повнокровний, далеко неоднозначний образ, в якому проявилися риси воїна, політика, люблячого чоловіка, батька своїх дітей, вдячного сина. Аналіз ситуацій, в яких постають два взаємопов’язані головні герої роману (Ростислав Михайлович та Анна), показав, що письменник у їх розкритті більшою мірою покладається на відтворення діалектики їхніх психічних станів. У романі зображуються жести, пози, рухи (або, навпаки, їхня відсутність), міміка персонажів. У виразі обличчя провідну роль відіграють очі та певний відтінок кольору (чорний, червоний, зблідлий, білий). Найбільше видима мова душі героїв постає через передачу їхніх внутрішніх переживань. Змалювання фізіологічних реакцій, порівняння відчуттів персонажів з явищами в природі, відсилання до дій, що символічно відбуваються у їхніх душах, вияскравлюють психологічні портрети.

The article draws attention to the fact that the involvement of the means of artistic psychology helps writers to create images of little-known historical figures, which are marked by small information and considerable time distance. The contribution of Ivan Korsak to the development of Ukrainian historical romance is commented. The names of the researchers (V. Koskin, M. Slaboshpitsky, D. Stepovik, N. Tokar), who traced the key features of the writer’s creative manner, were named. Since the events of the 13th century are interpreted in the Conqueror of Europe, the purpose of our exploration is to find out the strategies for creating the main characters. Separate tasks are the isolation of situations that reveal the appearance of Rostislav Mikhailovich and Anna; establishing the constituent psychological portraits of the characters. The analysis used a historical-comparative method that helped to establish historical situations in the novel and understand the motivation behind the actions of the characters. It is emphasized that the coverage of the life and activities of the Russian prince Rostislav Mikhailovich in classical Ukrainian historiography is marked by negative characteristics. Instead, in his novel, I. Korsak created a full-blooded, far-ambiguous image in which the traits of a warrior, a politician, a loving man, the father of his children, a grateful son were revealed. The analysis of the situations in which two mutual relationships emerge, the main characters of the novel (Rostislav Mikhailovich and Anna), revealed that the writer, in their disclosure, relies more on the reproduction of the dialectics of their mental states. The novel depicts gestures, postures, movements (or vice versa, their absence), facial expressions. In the facial expression the leading role is played by the eyes and a certain shade of color (black, red, pale, white). The most visible language of the hero’s soul comes from the transmission of their inner experiences. The depiction of physiological reactions, the comparison of the feelings of the characters with the phenomena in nature, references to actions that are symbolic in their souls, elicit psychological portraits.
