Національна та регіональна значущість літературно-художніх антропонімів у романі Володимира Лиса " Століття Якова"

Abstract

Статтю присвячено дослідженню літературно-художніх антропонімів з національною та регіональною значущістю, що функціонують у романі Володимира Лиса «Століття Якова». Подається опис найменувань персонажів, визначається їх інформаційний потенціал, роль у сюжетному розгортанні. З’ясовано, що джерелом творення назв персонажів є традиційна українська антропонімія. Доведено, що літературно-художні антропоніми у романі відзначаються детальністю, кількісним та структурним багатством, а це проявляється у відтворенні типових загальнонаціональних рис української антропонімії та її регіональних особливостей.

The article is devoted to the study of the proper names of the literary heroes with national and regional significance that function in the novel «Yakiv’s Century» written by Volodymyr Lys. The relevance of our research is due to the fact that in modern linguistics the potential possibilities of the proper names of the literary heroes in prose texts by well-known authors are not yet sufficiently studied. Therefore, in our opinion, the study of the hero’s own name requires special attention, and a thorough analysis of the proper names of the literary heroes in V. Lys’ novel «Yakiv’s Century» opens up possibilities for further generalizations in the field of relevant linguistic and stylistic issues. The purpose of our article is to investigate nationally and regionally significant proper names of the literary heroes in the novel of the famous Ukrainian writer Volodymyr Lys; our task is to describe the proper names of the literary heroes that underlie national and regional significance, to find out the encyclopedic and semantic load of the proper names of the literary heroes, their functioning in the work. We have explored a large number of diminutive and petty forms of personal names of both the protagonist and the minor characters. Attention was drawn to the role of the appellatives in naming the characters. A description of the characters’ names is given, their information potential is determined, so as the role in the plot deployment. It is found that the source of creation of the characters’ names is traditional Ukrainian anthroponymy. It is proved that the proper names of the literary heroes in the novel are marked by detail, quantitative and structural richness, and this is manifested in the reproduction of typical national features of Ukrainian anthroponymy and its regional features. The novel has a lot of proper names of the literary heroes (names, surnames, nicknames, andronyms). All of them are considered to be of national importance, because they are onyms, which are typical for Volyn in different years of the twentieth century. Some of them have special dialect features, which correspond to the poleshuks’ names, and are means of creating Ukrainian regional coloration. Volodymyr Lys carefully selects the proper names of the literary heroes that correspond to the realities of the depicted period. They attract attention with their form and internal content.
