| Abstract: | The state of for new cationic cyanine dyes has been examined over an acidity range from 5M NaOH to 5M H2SO4. The dyes can exist a s monocharged ionic, protonated and hydrolyzed forms depending on the acidity. Conditions for the existence of these forms have been found and the protonation and hydrolysis constants have been calculated. |
