Prototype application for tracking individual and public vehicles

Abstract

The analysis of modern technologies of public transport and the use of Smart Technology in the business of transport services became the basis for researching the topic of this publication. This article examines one of the aspects of the formation of the Carpathian Smart Region project, namely, providing residents and guests of the region with the opportunity to move comfortably within its borders, using innovative methods and practices. The study also provides a comparative description of already existing developments and practices regarding the involvement of modern information and smart technologies. To successfully solve the task in the project, it was proposed to create an application that would allow tracking the movement of all types of public and individual transport in the specified region. Also, using all the best developments of already existing systems, and cutting off all the shortcomings, the idea arose to improve the infrastructure and user experience of interaction with such applications and to conduct a detailed analysis of the needs of 'smart' movement in the entire region. The results of the work are presented and supported by data systematized in the form of UML diagrams and comparative research tables. © 2023 IEEE.
