Abstract

The International Commission for the study of folk culture in the Carpathians and Balkans was the only one academic international organization of ethnologists from European Communist countries. In the article author in short ways is told about history of this organization, its structure, main achievements and loses. The author also is looking for the explanation, why such originally active scientist organization was not able to survive the crucial politic and in the same time generation change in the turn of the 1980s and 1990s.
