Стилістичні орієнтири в епоху функціоналізму

Abstract

The paper aims at the chronological analysis of the theoretical and methodological aspects of stylistics throughout the period of functionalism in linguistics. Thus the article provides insights into the contemporary stylistic approaches, namely pedagogical, discourse, radical, empirical, contextualized stylistics etcetera with their accent on the function, reader, context and their understanding of ‘style’ as a less text-immanent phenomenon but as existing within a more dynamic social process. As a result stylistics has shifted from taxonomic structural linguistic models of formalism to the diverse and pluralistic socio-cultural orientations of functionalism.
