Діяльність українського візантиніста Володимира Сас-Залозецького в музейно-бібліотечній комісії товариства "Просвіта" в Ужгороді (1922 – 1924)

Abstract

The article highlights the main trends of activities of Ukrainian Byzantine Scholar Volodymyr Sas-Zalozetskyi in the “Prosvita” Society Museum and Library Commission in Uzhhorod. It is accentuated that V. Zalozetskyi became a member of the Prosvita Society at the end of 1922 and soon he joined the Museum and Library Commission of the Society. He took an active part in the creation and replenishment of the "Prosvita" museum, archive and library funds. The scientist studied the peculiarities of the development of church architecture and art in Pidkarpatska Rus, and also actively promoted the achievements of Uzhgorod "Prosvita" in Galicia and among the Ukrainian exile of Germany. In his publications V. Zalozetskyi emphasized the close historical cultural ties between Transcarpathia and Galicia and the rest of Ukrainian lands.
