Зроблено кумулятивні висновки щодо витоків, історичних меж та шляхів вдосконалення української державності в сьогоднішніх умовах, враховуючи історичну практику її становлення та розвитку. The article is devoted to the analysis of some aspects of the problem of origins and historical boundaries of Ukrainian statehood. The content and legal content of the concept of statehood and its relation to the concept of the state are analyzed. It is stated that the concept of statehood is broader in its meaning than the concept of state. Statehood is a kind of foundation of the state and the state is the institutional and legal objectification of statehood. Given this understanding of statehood, it is indicated that the beginning of the process of formation of Ukrainian statehood can be defined as the ninth century (882), and its upper limit - the adoption of the Act of Independence of Ukraine (24th of August 1991), confirmed by the All-Ukrainian referendum on December 1, 1991. The main milestones of the development of Ukrainian statehood are indicated and argued, considering the legal content of its content. Cumulative conclusions are made about the origins, historical boundaries and ways to improve Ukrainian statehood in today’s conditions, considering the historical practice of its formation and development.
