Місія успіху: роль очільників Наукової бібліотеки Ужгородського університету в її 80-річній історії

Abstract

Мета статті – дослідити роль очільників бібліотеки Ужгородського національного університету у становленні та розвитку університетської книгозбірні впродовж її 80-річної історії. Методологія дослідження базується на застосуванні джерелознавчого, архівного та біографічного методів. Наукова новизна полягає в тому, що етапи, які пройшла бібліотека від свого створення і форму вання фондів до запровадження нових найновіших методик обслуговування, комп’ютеризації і виходу на флагманську позицію серед книгозбірень Закарпаття, розглянуто через призму професійних, організаторських та особистісних якостей керманичів бібліотеки. Простежено долі, іноді драматичні і трагічні, всіх керівників, а саме: Євгена Шадурова, Олени Фесенко, Івана Кирячка, Івана Сабадоша, Олени Почекутової, Наталії Гунько та Марії Медведь, показано, як їхні наукові інтереси, відданість своїй справі, наполегливість, мудрість чи зважений ризик послужили в різні історичні періоди становленню бібліотеки, запровадженню нових методик обслуговування, розширенню її структури, комп’ютеризації тощо. Висновки. Успішний розвиток університетської бібліотеки від створення у 1945 р. і донині став підтвердженням управлінських та організаторських умінь її керівників, їхніх правильних передбачень щодо тенденцій у бібліотечній галузі, що мало позитивний вплив на формування іміджу книгозбірні, яка впродовж своєї історії уміло адаптувалась як до вимог суспільства, так і до читацьких інтересів. Імена керівників бібліотеки вписані в її літопис та є свідченням високої відданості служінню науці і культурі України.

The purpose of the article is to investigate the role of the heads of Uzhhorod National University Library in the strategy of formation and development of the university’s book collection during its 80-year his -tory. The methodology of the article is based on source studies, and the application of archival and bi -ographical research methods. Scientific novelty. The study traces the periods of successful development of the largest library in the Transcarpathian region from 1945 to the present day through the prism of the tenures of the heads of the university library, namely: Yevhen Shadurov, Olena Fesenko, Ivan Kyria - chok, Ivan Sabadosh, Olena Pochekutova, Nataliia Hunko and Mariia Medved. The skillful management of the heads of the educational library have had a positive impact on the formation of the library’s col -lection, the introduction of new service methods, the expansion of its structure, computerization, etc. Conclusions. The strategy for the successful development of the university library has confirmed the managerial skills and vision of its management, which had a positive impact on the formation of the library’s image. Preservation of cultural heritage has become the main focus of the work of each library head in different periods. The 80-year history of the Scientific Library of Uzhhorod National University is closely connected with the names of people who directed its development. The historical study of the library’s activity is combined with the fates of the library heads, especially during the period of commu -nist ideology which, despite negative repercussions, could not disrupt their unchanging service to the library. During the period of its existence, the library skillfully adapted to the readers’ requirements and interests, which became one of the most important criteria for its work. Its main task has been to satisfy the information needs of the users. The names of the library leaders are inscribed in its annals and are evidence of their high devotion and service to science and culture of Ukraine.
