«Інститут» Стивена Кінга і тенденції фентезійної міфотворчості першої чверті ХХІ ст.

Abstract

Сучасний фентезійний роман проявляє високу жанрову гнучкість та адаптивність у розвитку, тому часто є важко ідентифікованим. Оскільки саме фентезійним складник нині є провідним чинником впливу на художній процес, дослідження відповідних новітніх репрезентативних зразків є вельми актуальним. Одним з найскладніших фентезійних феноменів кінця ХХ – першої чверті ХХІ ст. є романістика Стивена Кінга як полірівневий і циклічно організований метатекст у динаміці. У нашій статті вперше здійснено спробу комплексного міфопоетичного аналізу концептуального для прозаїка твору «Інститут» (2019). При наявності власне фантастичного елемента, цей роман проявляє чіткі риси фентезійного твору і відображає ключові ознаки трансформованої на початку ХХІ ст. мета-жанрової парадигми. Уперше на фентезійному тлі першої чверті ХХІ ст. визначаємо особливості міфопоетичної парадигми «Інституту» (вона сформована інтенсивним інтертекстуальним наповненням роману, тобто належить до джойсівського типу міфологізування), аналізуючи у творі, зокрема, структури фентезійного синтаксису (Б. Атте-бері). Висвітлюємо логіку співвідношень інстальованого в текст роману сюжетно-образного конструкта «дім дивних дітей» з погляду досвіду роботи з ним інших авторів; рельєфності дослідження сприяє зіставлення позитивної й негативної іпостасей «дому», а також варіантів цього конструкта різного ступеня пророблення. Звертаємо увагу на художнє дослідження С. Кінгом проблеми магічного мислення сучасної особистості, що включає одивнення науково-технічних досягнень і представлення законів і системних закономірностей у проявах ірраціонального, а також підхоплення й розвиток автором актуалізованої в сучасному фентезі теми допустимості боротьби зі злом силами зла, оскільки герой тепер часто безпосередньо пов’язаний з «темним» началом. Останнє положення безпосередньо лежить в етичній площині і підключає окремий шар питань сучасної переоцінки моральної системи координат. Матеріал пропонованої статті отримує додаткову вагу у зв’язку з тим, що творчість С. Кінга є помітним чинником впливу на розвиток українського фентезійного роману і метажанру західного канону в цілому. The modern fantasy novel exhibits high genre flexibility and adaptability in development, which is why it is often diffi-cult to identify. Since the fantasy component is currently the leading factor influencing the artistic process, the study of its latest representative фкешіешс examples is very relevant. One of the most complex fantasy phenomena of the end of the XX – the first quarter of the XXI centuries is the novels by Stephen King as a multi-level and cyclically organized metatext in dynamics. Our article is the first attempt at a comprehensive mythopoetic analysis of the work “The Institute” (2019), which is conceptual for a prose writer. With the presence of a purely fantastic element, this novel exhibits clear features of a fantasy text and reflects key markers of the metagenre paradigm transformed at the beginning of the XXI century. Against the fantasy backdrop of the first quarter of our century, we determine the features of the mythopoetic paradigm of “The Institute” for the first time (it is formed by the intense intertextual content of this novel, that’s why the text belongs to the Joycean type of mythologizing); we analyze in the artistic work, in particular, the structures of fantasy syntax (B. Atte-bery). We highlight the logic of the relationships of the plot-figurative construct “Home for Peculiar Children” installed in the text of the novel from the point of view of the experience of other authors working with it; the relevance of our study is enhanced by the fcomparison of the positive and negative hypostases of “the Home”, as well as variants of this construct of varying degrees of artistic elaboration. We draw attention to S. King’s artistic study of the problem of magical thinking of the modern individual, which includes the astonishment of scientific and technical achievements and the presentation of canons and systemic patterns in manifestations of the irrational; we are also considering the author’s uptake and develop-ment of the theme of the permissibility of fighting evil with the forces of evil, which has been actualized in modern fantasy, since the hero is now often directly connected with the “dark” principle. The latter position lies directly in the ethical plane and connects a separate layer of issues of the modern reassessment of the moral coordinate system. The material of the proposed article gains additional weight due to the fact that the artistic work by S. King is a notable factor influencing the development of the Ukrainian fantasy novel and the metagenre of the Western canon as a whole.
