Abstract

Aim: То evaluate the m-cholineblocking efficacy and safety of Tropicamidi, 0,5 % еуе drops (Farmak), at realization of diagnostic procedures in the adult and children in comparison with а Midriacil 0,5% solution (Alcon). Methods: А total 60 eyes were enrolled in the randomized, parallel design, multicenter study. Follow-up examinations were per­formed during 5 hours after initiation of investigation and the next day. Following examinations were done: measuring of visual acu­ity, ophthalmoscopy, hydrodynamic parameters bу electronic tonometry, adverse events, ocular signs, pupil diameter, ocular flare and hyperemia, pulse and blood pressure, and laboratory analysis of blood and urine. Results: Tropicamidi (0,5%, Farmak) expands а pupil on 6 mm and more, maximal the mydriatic effect is reached in 15-20 minutes, duration of mydriatic effect - 1 hour, restoration accommodation and sizes of а pupil in 3-5 hours. Any complications were not ob­served. Conclusion: Tropicamidi (0,5%, Farmak) is а safe, effective and well tolerated new m-cholineblocking analog for realization of diag­nostic procedures in the adult and children.
