Abstract

ln the investigation the author concludes that under unfavouraЬle socio- economical circumstances in Transcarpathia that were strengthened bу church hierarchy weakening andthe policy forced bу the Hungarians in the first half of the 19th century there were factors which favoured Ukrainian identity estabishment of the major part of local population. The process of ethnopolitical differentiation fтom the Hungarians and other nationalities of the region was going оn. And the relations with the Galician Ukrainians became stronger.
