Abstract

The information containing in the eastern sources of narrative character (arabic and persian) make us be come to conclusion that it is possible to renew to a certain extend, the history of ancient nomadic peoples. From the sources we have got the data about the peoples and unions of the tribes that in the course of time become the founders of the new states, new ethnic formations or about the peoples that are gone for ever from the political stage and left only names and reminiscences about their legendary past. That was the inevitable process for the region of the Eastern Europe in the VII-XI centuries. In the above - mentioned article, there are about the territory of dwelling of ancient Hungarians, about the social infrastructure of the tribes, about religious beliefs and contacts with neighbors and even such specific data as description of the appearance and looks of the people and the way of making marriage. The unions of nomads were often formed and frequently broke up, they were forced during military actions and were totally broken up as a result of military defeats. The data obtained about the Hungarians, is divided by the author into several points, each to be characterized by the information provided by the eastern authors. At the very beginning of an article the biographical information about the eastern authors is given in the contracted form.
