Comparative characteristics of diagnostic value of video capsule endoscopy and colonoscopy in diagnosing diseases of the colon

Abstract

Colonoscopy is one of reliable methods of AP diagnosis. Moreover, it allows for immediate removal of the polyp or obtaining a biopsy specimen. Numerous studies have shown that the sensitivity of colonoscopy (CS) for detecting polyps 6-9 mm in size is 85-90% and reaches 95% for larger polyps with good bowel preparation.
