dc.description.abstractIt is noted that given the current direction of development of Ukraine, which is aimed at building the rule of law and democratic state, it is important to create effective mecha- nisms for securing and respecting the constitutional rights and legitimate interests of the individual and citizen in all spheres of social and political life of the country, control over the subjects of the security sector in Ukraine. The article analyzes the stages of devel- opment of the legal foundations of civil democratic control over the security sector, which include the formation, functioning and stages of its improvement since independence. Emphasis is placed on the expediency of the legislative consolidation of the principles of exercising this type of control, such as civil democratic control over the subjects of the security sector, as well as the legislative consolidation of the main tasks, which should en- sure the prevention and prevention of violations of the constitutional rights and freedoms of Ukrainian citizens by the subjects of the sector security, as well as compliance with the law in the activities of all these entities. The issue of ensuring democratic civil control over the security sector in Ukraine is complex and governed by the rules of the constitutional, administrative, international and other branches of law. The article reveals how constitu- tional principles have influenced the formation and continue to fully influence the current state of the legal framework for democratic civilian control over the subjects of the Ukraini- an security sector. Shown established a modern system of democratic civilian control over the security sector, which includes such components as: control exercised by the Presi- dent of Ukraine; control exercised by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine; control exercised by the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine; control exercised by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, executive authorities and local self-government bodies; judicial control; public control. The outlined perspective directions of modern improved legislation of Ukraine, which reform certain aspects of the activity of the civil democratic parliament, are separated in the budget, taking into account and in the context of our country, which supports membership in the European and Euro-Atlantic structuresuk
