Abstract

The peculiarities of scientific, theoretical and methodologically practical activity of Yurij Venelin (Georgij Guca), who was the founder of Ukrainian literary criticism of Bulgaristics are considered in this article. The attention is paid to the problem of reflecting the national character in verbal and written creations of Bulgarian people, which is discussed in his work. It is also stressed on the results of sources’ and texts’ studies activity of the scientists, who researched the artistic specificity of investigated phenomenon, created the comparative methodology of studying Bulgarian historical and cultural processes.
