Abstract

75 patients with atherosclerotic stenosis of the internal carotid artery (JCA) were examined with different clinical manifestations. Тhе thorough neuralgic inspection, the duplex scanning of extracrenial arteries, morphological investigation of atherosclerotic plaques. ln 38 cases out of 78, so-called hemodynamically significant (more then 70 per cent) stenosis of ІСА discovered out of them 25 (66 per cent) "asymptomatic" with discirculatory encephalopathy and asymptomatic course. ln the other 40 cases hemodynamically insignificant stenoses from 50 to 70 per cent discovered. 29 (72 per cent) of were "symptomatic" patients with transitory ischemic attack and remaining phenomenon of complete cerebral thrombosis stroke.Ву the duplex scanning soft (low density) and heterogeneous atherosclerotic plaques connected with а large risk of embolagenic of complications in brain vessels were registered in 41 cases, 81 per cent of them were discovered іn the patients with transitory ischemic attack and remaining phenomenon of complete cerebral thrombosis stroke. Echo-dense plaques - 37 cases, 80 рег cent out them with discirculatory encephalopathy and asymptomatic course. There is nо certain соrrеІаtіоn between the degree of stenosis and clinical its manifestations, but there is direct dependence of clinic stenosis lesions ІСА оn the morphostructure of plaques.
