Abstract

There were more than 200 infant scgools in the north-eastern part of Austro-Hungary, і.е. over the whole territory of Transcarpathia and Eastern Slovakia at the end of the 19-th century. Correspondingly, the availability of а sufficient numder of educators served as the incentive to their unification into North-Eastern Union of Hungarian educators. The circumstances of the formation and activities of this Union on the territory of Transcarpathia, the nember of infant scgools, their varieties and teaching languages in them have been described in the present scgools, their varieties and teaching languages in them have been described in the present article.
