Abstract

The conference was organized by the Department of Slavonic philology of Belgrade University, headed by prof. L. Popovych. During the work of the conference 46 reports were made and dis cussed. Significant problems of studying Slavistic philology, the Ukrainian language and litera ture, national identity in Europe and in the world have been discussed by the scholars from Ukraine, Serbia, Croatia, Bulgaria, Poland, Slovakia, Russia, Hungary, Italy, the USA, Israel, Japan etc. The exhibition of the most up-to-date Ukrainistic publications has also been ar ranged by the participants from different countries. The conference in Belgrade gave a powerful impetus to further scholarly studies in the domain of Ukrainian philology.
