Акцентне виділення інформаційної структури британських лекцій

Abstract

Дослідження проведено в рамках лекційного регістру наукового стилю. Матеріалом дослідження слугували лекції на філологічну тематику. Метою цього дослідження є аналіз просодичних засобів реалізації інформаційної структури британських лекцій. Авторка з’ясувала, що у британських лекторів домінує спадний рух тона в ядрах інформаційних центрів. Цей просодичний малюнок є відображенням таких рис британського національного характеру, як стриманість, зваженість, обміркування та величавість. Також британцям притаманне дуже дрібне викладання матеріалу, критичне подання інформації, використання прикладів та цитувань.

The given research was conducted within lecture register of scientific functional style. Lectures on philology constituted the material for this research. The aim of the article was to analyze the prosodic means of British lectures’ information structure. In the course of the research, the author found out that the British lecturers had a tendency to use the Falling Sliding Scale in the pre-nucleus part of intonation groups. This scale was combined with the falling movement of tone in the nuclei of information centers. The author states that this prosodic pattern is the reflection of such British national features as restraint, pomposity, deliberation etc. Also the British nature is to expound information, to criticize and to provide listeners with a great number of examples and quotations.
