Праслов`янська спадщина в українських назвах хлібних злаків

Abstract

Ukrainian equivalents of pre-slavonic names of grains *proso, *(j)agьla, *bъrь, *оvьsъ, *žito, *рьšеnіса, *jarica, *jаrъсь, *руrо/-ъ, *ęčьmу, *ęčьmуkъ, *sqrъžica and some others are analysed in the present article. The research is done on the basis of language material taken from written records and dialects of the Ukrainian language. With the purpose of identifying the etymology of these names facts from other Slavonic and Indo-­European languages are widely used.
