Оцінний компонент в описі засобів невербальної комунікації в художній літературі (на прикладі романів Джоан Ролінґ)

Abstract

У запропонованій розвідці на матеріалі романів Дж. Ролінґ «Гаррі Поттер і філософський камінь» і «Гаррі Поттер і в’язань Азкабану» обґрунтовується наявність оцінного компоненту в описі засобів невербальної комунікації в художній літературі. У статті визначено поняття та представлено загальну характеристики категорії оцінки у мовознавстві; охарактеризовано сутність невербальної комунікації; представлено можливості опису невербальної комунікації персонажів художнього твору як засобу передачі оцінних значень. Аксіологічний аспект мови передбачає її здатність передавати почуття, оцінки людей, ситуацій та об’єктів, а також ділитися та протиставляти ці думки іншим мовцям. Складаючись під впливом інтересів, цілей, ідеалів, потреб комуніканта, оцінка відображає його ціннісну шкалу, характеризує об’єкт оцінки, класифікуючи і співвідносячи його зі стереотипами, нормами, правилами. Невербальна комунікація посідає дуже важливе місце в художньому творі, де автор здійснює «вербалізацію невербаліки» – породження нових смислів унаслідок подвійної актуалізації невербальних кодів засобами конкретної мови, що характеризується переходом особистісних смислів адресанта до їхнього втілення в значення одиниць мовного коду. Засоби вербалізації невербальної поведінки персонажів здатні передавати широкий спектр значень, що стосуються персонажів, серед іншого – оцінку. Дослідження демонструє, що опис невербальної поведінки персонажів у романах Дж. Ролінґ дозволяє не лише передати емоційну складову ситуації спілкування, а і оцінну, що нерозривно пов’язана з емоціями персонажів. Найчастіше опис засобів невербальної комунікації персонажів романів письменниці передає оцінку імпліцитно, коли через сприйняття опису поведінки персонажів читач сам робить висновок щодо закладеної в описі оцінки; однак також спостерігаються випадки, коли оцінка є експліцитною та прямо закладена в оцінних мовних одиницях, що використовуються при описі невербальної комунікації. Виявлено, що оцінка, закладена в описі невербальної комунікації персонажів може стосуватися як оцінки самого персонажа авторкою та іншими персонажами (у результаті – і читачем), так і ставлення цього персонажа до того, що його оточує.

The proposed investigation substantiates the presence of an evaluative component in the description of the means of non-verbal communication in fiction based on J. Rowling’s novels “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone” and “Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban”. The article defines the concept and presents the general characteristics of the category of evaluation in linguistics; characterizes the essence of non-verbal communication; and presents the possibilities of describing the non-verbal communication of the characters in the literary work of fiction as a means of conveying evaluative meanings. The axiological aspect of language involves its ability to convey feelings, evaluations of people, situations, and objects, and to share and contrast these thoughts with other speakers. Formed under the influence of interests, goals, ideals, needs of the communicator, evaluation reflects his scale of values, characterizes the object of evaluation, classifying and correlating it with stereotypes, norms, and rules. Non-verbal communication plays a very important role in a work of fiction where the author realizes “verbalization of non-verbal” – thus generating new meanings as a result of the double actualization of non-verbal codes by means of a specific language, which is characterized by the transition of the personal meanings of the addressee to their embodiment in the meaning of the units of language code. The means of verbalizing non-verbal behavior of the characters are able to convey a wide range of meanings concerning the characters, and evaluation is among these meanings. The study demonstrates that the description of non-verbal behavior of the characters in J. Rowling’s novels allows conveying not only the emotional component of a communicative situation, but also the evaluative one which is inextricably connected with the characters’ emotions. Most often, the description of the means of the characters’ non-verbal communication in novels conveys the evaluation implicitly, when, through the perception of the description of the characters’ behavior, the reader themselves draws a conclusion about the evaluation embedded in this description; however, there are also cases when the evaluation is explicit and directly embedded in the evaluative language units used to describe non-verbal communication. It was revealed that evaluation included in the description of non-verbal communication of the characters can refer to both the evaluation of the character by the author and other characters (and as a result, by the reader, too), as well as the attitude of this character to what surrounds him.
