Авторський стиль художнього опису М. Левицької в оригіналі та перекладах (на основі роману «Коротка історія тракторів по-українськи»)

Abstract

У цьому досліджені увага звернена на чинники, важливі для формування індивідуальної особистості автора та перекладача. Факти життєпису вважаються одними із основних рис, які впливають на формування ідіостилю, а також дають підказку до розуміння складних образів чи стилістичних фігур. У нижченаведеній розвідці розглянуто вибіркові описи із сатиричного роману “A Short History of Tractors in Ukrainian” британської письменниці українського походження М. Левицької та особливості їх передачі у перекладах німецькою, українською та російською мовами. Дослідження охоплює короткий огляд теорій та поглядів перекладознавців щодо питання індивідуальних стилів автора і перекладача, факторів, які впливають на їх формування, а також взаємодії письменника та перекладача як співавтора цільового художнього тексту з метою створення якісного перекладу. Предметом розвідки розглядаються способи та засоби передачі (перекладацькі трансформації) іноземними мовами авторських художніх описів. Об’єктом дослідження виступають художні описи з англомовного роману М. Левицької “A Short History of Tractors in Ukrainian” (2005) та їх переклади німецькою, українською та російською мовами. Наведені у дослідженні приклади – описи, ілюструють багатство та розмаїття художньої мови М. Левицької. Описи містять яскраві приклади епітетів, метафор та порівнянь, а також емоційно забарвлених дієслів. Усі ці засоби перекладачі намагалися якісно відтворити у мові перекладу завдяки нормам цільової мови, зберігши стилістику оригіналу. Лексико-стилістичні трансформації характеризують високу якість іншомовних перекладів (особливо німецькою та українською мовами). Інколи можна помітити незначні відхилення від тексту оригіналу у вигляді додавань чи опущень, проте вони жодним чином не впливають на зміст та загальну стилістику іншомовного тексту.

This article considers the factors important for the formation of the individual personality of the author and translator. The scientific research reviews biography facts as one of the main features that influence the formation of an idiostyle, and also provide a clue to the understanding of complex images or stylistic figures. The following research examines selected descriptions from the satirical novel “A Short History of Tractors in Ukrainian” by the British writer of Ukrainian origin M. Levytska and the peculiarities of their transmission in translations into German, Ukrainian and Russian languages. In view of this, the study includes a brief overview of the theories and views of translation experts on the issue of individual styles of the author and translator, factors that influence their formation, as well as the interaction of the writer and the translator, as a co-author of the target literary text, in order to create a high-quality translation. The subject of research – methods and means of translation (translational transformations) in foreign languages of the author’s artistic descriptions. The object of the research – artistic descriptions from English novel “A Short History of Tractors in Ukrainian” by M. Levytska (2005) and their translations into German, Ukrainian, and Russian. The examples given in the study (descriptions) illustrate the richness and diversity of M. Levytska’s artistic language. Lexical and stylistic transformations characterize the high quality of foreign language translations (especially into German and Ukrainian). Sometimes you can notice slight deviations from the original text in the form of additions or omissions, but they do not affect the content and general style of the foreign text in any way. Facts from the biography of both (author and translator) often help scientists to identify and explain the features of idiostyle, but sometimes such information is lacking. The better writer knows about the details he/she describes in his/her works, the brighter artistic language is.
