Біблійні образи й мотиви в романі Михайла Трайсти «Бляшаний Христос»

Abstract

У статті досліджується своєрідність функціонування біблійних образів і мотивів у романі відомого українського письменника Румунії Михайла Трайсти «Бляшаний Христос». Підкреслюється, що одна з ознак індивідуального стилю автора – специфічна трансформація біблійних образів, мотивів і жанрів, а також активне використання з різних християнських джерел цитат, алюзій, ремінісценцій, парафраз тощо, які відіграють роль своєрідних ціннісних орієнтирів і пояснюють світогляд письменника як homo religiosus (людини релігійної). Тому-то в контексті роману «Бляшаний Христос» відлунюють біблійні оповіді про Каїна й Авеля, патріарха Юду та його невістку Тамару, праведника Йова, Ісуса Христа, Марію Магдалину, апостола Петра, врятованого розбійника, ідеї Божих заповідей, книг пророків Ісаї і Даниїла, Пісні пісень, Євангелій та ін. Доведено, що через символічний образ бляшаного розп’яття Михайло Трайста майстерно втілив у зміст твору християнську ідею про всеприсутність і всюдисущість Ісуса Христа, щоби вивірити повсякденну поведінку людей відповідно до морально-етичного кодексу, виписаного на Мойсеєвих скрижалях. Важливу смислову функцію в романі «Бляшаний Христос» виконує образ сільського роздоріжжя, на якому встановлено й освячено бляшане розп’яття Ісуса Христа, що в контексті твору набуває особливого символічного значення і звучання. Це не лише сакральний простір, а й місце людських вагань, душевних сумнівів, дворушництва і смертного гріха. Встановлено, що активне використання Михайлом Трайстою біблійних структур характеризується різноманітністю концептуальних моделей, які не тільки поновлюють у пам’яті древні події, а й, що надзвичайно важливо, набувають особливого актуального значення і, вписуючись у сучасні буттєві реалії, допомагають формувати новий погляд на подолання духовної кризи, в якій опинилася сучасна людська спільнота. До аналізу залучаються також твори на біблійну тематику Ольги Дучимінської, Катрі Гриневичевої, Наталени Королевої, Ліни Костенко, Оксани Забужко та ін.

The article examines the functional distinctiveness of the biblical images and motifs in the novel «The Tin Christ» written by Mykhailo Traista, the famous Ukrainian writer living in Romania. The study emphasizes that one of the peculiarities of the writer’s individual style is the particular transformation of biblical images, motifs and genres, as well as the active use of quotes, allusions, reminiscences, paraphrases, etc. from various Christian sources. They serve as outstanding value guidelines and explain the writer’s worldview as homo religiosus (religious person). Therefore, so many biblical motifs are echoed in the novel «The Tin Christ». Among them are the stories about Cain and Abel, the patriarch Judah and his daughter- in-law Tamara, the righteous Jehova, Jesus Christ, Mary Magdalene, the apostle Peter, the saved robber, the ideas of God's commandments, the books of the prophets Isaiah and Daniel, the Song of Songs, the Gospel, etc. The author provides arguments for stating that through the symbolic image of the tin crucifix, Mykhailo Traista in his novel skillfully embodied the Christian idea of the omnipresence of Jesus Christ, which is aimed at aligning the everyday behaviour of people in accordance with the moral and ethical code written on the Moses’ tablets. Moreover, the image of the village crossroads serves an important semantic function in the novel «The Tin Christ». Thus, the tin crucifixion of Jesus Christ is installed and consecrated, which in the context of the novel acquires a special symbolic meaning and resonance. This is not only a sacred space but also a place of human hesitation, mental doubts, hypocrisy and mortal sin. Particular attention is paid to the Mykhailo Traista’s active use of biblical structures which is characterised by a variety of conceptual models that not only revive ancient events in memory, but also, and this is extremely important, acquire a particularly relevant meaning and resonance and, fitting into modern everyday realities, help to form a new point of view to overcoming the spiritual crisis in which the modern human community found itself. The analysis includes works on biblical themes written by Olga Duchyminska, Katria Hrynevycheva, Natalena Koroleva, Lina Kostenko, Oksana Zabuzhko, and others.
