Художній концепт «війна» у прозі Володимира Яворівського (на матеріалі повісті «А яблука падають…»)

Abstract

У статті подано аналіз художнього концепту «війна» як одного із провідних у прозі Володимира Яворівського. Прозаїк вдається до спроб осягнути війну, відобразити рефлексії, викликані болем, стражданнями, смертю та глибоким розчаруванням у житті. У свідомості письменника війна представлена у вигляді своєрідного «згустку інформації» про незрозумілу логікою, незвичайно абсурдну реальність, яка призводить до жахливих згубних наслідків, катастрофи та ділить життя героїв на «до» та «після». Концепт «війна» у творах В. Яворівського наділений ключовими етичними та моральними бінарними опозиціями (боротьба «добра» та «зла»), представлений як перехід від низького, гостро негативного до героїчного. Установлено, що характерною особливістю творів Володимира Яворівського є відсутність прямого зображення військових дій. Натомість війна зображується через ставлення до неї героїв, численні ретроспекції та цитування документальних джерел. У трактуванні теми війни письменник спирається на народний гуманізм, любов до рідної землі, носіями якої є його герої. Так у повістях Володимира Яворівського війна постає як трагедія окремої особистості, через осягнення якої приходить усвідомлення долі всього народу в ній. Письменник подає уявлення про війну як про ситуацію постійного морального вибору, своєрідного випробування людей на честь, гідність, патріотизм, перевірку особистості та нації на спроможність вистояти. Виявлено, що у характеризованій повісті письменник розвінчує так звану «романтику війни», викриваючи її страшне відлуння в стосунках людей, у взаємодії жіночого та чоловічого начал. В основу повісті закладено ідею незнищенності українського народного духу та землі. Визначено, що антивоєнні мотиви виявляють самобутність авторського стилю Володимира Яворівського, стаючи стильовими домінантами його прози.

The article analyzes the artistic concept of “war” as one of the leading concepts in Volodymyr Yavorivsky’s prose. The prose writer attempts to comprehend the war, to show the reflections caused by pain, suffering, death, and deep disappointment in life. In the writer’s mind, the war is presented as a kind of “clot of information” about an incomprehensible logic, an unusually absurd reality that leads to terrible disastrous consequences, catastrophe, and divides the lives of the characters into “before” and “after”. The concept of “war” in V. Yavorivsky’s works is endowed with key ethical and moral binary oppositions (the struggle between “good” and “evil”), presented as a transition from the low, acutely negative to the heroic. It is established that a characteristic feature of Volodymyr Yavorivsky’s works is the absence of direct depiction of military operations. Instead, the war is depicted through the attitude of the characters, numerous retrospectives, and citations of documentary sources. In interpreting the theme of war, the writer relies on folk humanism, love for the native land, the bearers of which are his characters. Thus, in Volodymyr Yavorivsky’s novels, the war appears as a tragedy of an individual, through the comprehension of which comes the realization of the fate of the entire nation in it. The writer presents the idea of war as a situation of constant moral choice, a kind of test of people’s honor, dignity, patriotism, and a test of the individual and the nation’s ability to withstand. It is found that in the characterized story the writer debunks the so-called “romance of war”, exposing its terrible echo in human relations, in the interaction of female and male principles. The story is based on the idea of the indestructibility of the Ukrainian national spirit and land. It has been determined that anti-war motifs reveal the originality of Volodymyr Yavorivsky’s authorial style, becoming the stylistic dominants of his prose.
