Символи як мовні засоби впливу (на матеріалі перекладів творів литовських поетів)

Abstract

У статті досліджено вплив мовних символів як на сприйняття поетичного тексту, так і безпосередньо на самого читача. З’ясовано, які поетичні образи є спільними для українців та литовців, а які читачі пізнають крізь призму власне тексту, створюючи своє тлумачення образу через його роль у канві оповіді. Мовні символи – важливий елемент поетичного тексту, це поетичний код, який читач / інтерпретатор вишукує для глибшого розуміння задуму поета, тлумачення глибинних змістів, які пізнає на рівні підсвідомості. У статті коротко розглянуто роль символів у житті людини, різні аспекти вивчення цього явища, як саме в ньому поєднано культурне, мовне і свідоме. Поетичний текст сам по собі перенасичений експресією, якщо це не заримована проза, кожне слово може бути як не метафорою, то символом, а тому вивчення таких текстів дуже пізнавальне для аналізу здатності мовних знаків впливати на людину. Недарма в Давньому Римі дар поезії був важливою вимогою для успішного оратора, оскільки допомагав йому ефективніше утримувати увагу авдиторії. Поезії, які стали матеріалом для статті, було написано як відгук на війну в Україні, а тому їх дослідження ще й цікаве тим, що в них буде переплітатися символіка різних культур, насамперед української та литовської, з домішками тих образів, які символізують радянську епоху або сучасний глобальний світ, пронизаний наскрізно Інтернетом. Також здійснено порівняльний аналіз тлумачень використаних символів у згаданих двох культурах, їх доповнено міркуванням про ту сугестію, яку обрані автором знаки чинять на зміст самого вірша та на його потенційного читача. Мовний символ сам по собі є ключем до підсвідомості реципієнта за умови, що останній знає його тлумачення у своїй культурі, тому аналіз перекладних поетичних текстів дозволить поглянути на те, які образи актуальні для сучасного читача з різних етнічних груп, а то й поколінь, а також вивчити, як за їх допомогою можна досягнути ефекту впливу.

The article examines the influence of poetry symbols both on the perception of the poetic text and directly on the readers themselves. It identifies poetic images common to both Ukrainians and Lithuanians, and those the readers discover through the lens of the text itself, creating their own interpretation of the image symbol through its role in the story line. Linguistic symbols are an important element of a poetic text. They form a poetic code which the reader and/or interpreter deciphers for a more intuitive understanding of the poet’s intention, the interpretation of hidden meanings, which the reader discovers almost at the subconscious level. The article briefly discusses the role of symbols in human life, various aspects of the study of this phenomenon, and the way it combines the culture, language and consciousness. A poetic text itself is oversaturated with expression. Every word can be, if not a metaphor, then a symbol, and therefore the study of such texts is very informative for analysing the ability of the linguistic code to influence a person. No wonder in ancient Rome the gift of poetry was an important requirement for a successful speaker, as it helped him to hold the attention of the audience more effectively. The poems that became the material for the article were written as a response to the ongoing Russian aggression against Ukraine, and therefore their research is also interesting because they will intertwine the symbols of different cultures: primarily Ukrainian and Lithuanian, in combination with those images that symbolize the Soviet era and those which belong to modern informational global world. A comparative analysis of the interpretations of the symbols used in the two cultures is also carried out, supplemented by a reflection on the effect that the signs chosen by the author have on the content of the poem itself and on its potential reader. The language symbol itself is the key to the subconscious of the recipient, provided that the latter knows its interpretation in his culture. Thus, the analysis of translated poetic texts will identify symbols that are relevant to the modern reader from different ethnic groups, or even generations, as well as to study how they can be used to achieve the effect of influence.
