Acute pancreatitis

Abstract

Acute pancreatitis is one of common causes of acute abdomen world wide. In the past two decades we can see improvement in treatment of acute uncomplicated pancreatitis. But still the complications of acute pancreatitis with insufficient treatment can lead to high mortality, which increase the demand for updating of diagnostic and treatment guidelines for more accurate work up, monitoring and complications of acute pancreatitis to decrease mortality and decrease the incidence of chronic pancreatitis and organ failure.
