Використовуючи актуальні статистичні дані ЮНКТАД та інших баз даних, досліджено структуру глобальної торгівлі, визначено основні експортні та імпортні товари, а також проаналізовано зміни в торговельних потоках за останні роки. Охарактеризовано провідні країни експортери та імпортери у світовій торгівлі товарами. Окремо закцентовано на ключовій ролі таких країн як Китай та США у глобальній економіці та їхній вплив на торговельні стратегії інших країн. Особлива увага приділена впливу глобальних геополітичних викликів, зокрема міжнародним санкціям, торговельним війнам та зміні політичних режимів, на структуру світової торгівлі.
