Abstract

The real situation of the issue of Ukrainian minorities in the Slovak Republic and the Slovak ones in Ukraine have been considered in the article on the basis of the sources which have been introduced into scientific circulation (e.g. “The case from the sitting of the Intergovernmental Slovak and Ukrainian Comission on the issues of national minorities, educational, cultural and scientific bonds” (“Správa z rokovania Medzivládnej slovensko-ukrajinskej komisie pre otázky národnostných menšín, školských, kultúrnych a vedeckých stykov”), “The report of Ukrainian delegation on the work of the third sitting of the Bilateral Ukrainian and Slovak commission on the issues of national minorities, education and culture signed by V. Troshchyns’kyy…” etc), A spectrum of problems, proposed for the discussion of the third sitting of the commission, which it was called to solve, has also been taken into consideration. A brief review of the situation, which arose in the sphere of ethnic and national politics of the independent Slovak Republic in the considered period of its state building history has been added.
