Abstract: The role of proper names in fiction (poetonyms)is rather significant, since they are one of the most important components of literature works. The identificational function of onyms makes them irreplaceable textual markers. The question of their etymological features should be explained with great attention for the reason that there exist numerous divergences in the nature of onomastic lexis.
