До історії бібліотеки Мукачівського монастиря

Abstract

У статті окреслено історію бібліотеки Мукачівського монастиря – одної з найдавніших книжкових колекцій не тільки України, але й Східної Європи загалом. Іс- торія цієї книгозбірні переконує, що Православ'я на Закарпатті тісно переплітається з історичними шляхами інших місцевих Церков. Існування бібліотеки рукописів та ран- ніх друкованих книжок епохи князя Корятовича ще раз підтверджує теорію взаємозв'яз- ку Мукачівської єпархії з іншими центрами просвітництва в Європі. На жаль, друга половина ХХ століття з її безбожним режимом зупинилася в історії біб- ліотеки. Рідкісні фоліанти опинилися як в архівах регіону, так і в приватних колекціях. Через це сьогодні нам важко говорити про відновлення книгозбірні та повернення не- оціненного минулого.

Without a doubt, the library of the Mukachevo Monastery is one of the oldest book collections of not only Ukraine, but also Eastern Europe. The fact of its existence convinces that Orthodoxy in Transcarpathia was closely intertwined with the historical ways of other Local Churches. The existence of the library of manuscripts and early printed books of the era of Prince Koryatovich once again confirms the theory of the interrelationship of the Mukacheve diocese with other centers of enlightenment in Europe. The activity of the library was undoubtedly inextricably linked with the existence of a monastic school. Due to the availability of extensive literature, manuscripts and old printed matter, the monks had the opportunity to fulfill the basic principles of European education: «To teach – to study». The bookshoot formed during the predominantly XIX-XX centuries was one of the most complete monastic gatherings in Ukraine. Mukacheve Library has contributed to the development of self-awareness, the emergence of world-view conviction and morality among the population. The bookstore, along with other powerful libraries of Ostroh, the Kyiv Mohyla Academy, Pochayev is inscribed in golden letters in the history of the Church in Ukraine. Unfortunately, the second half of the twentieth century with its godless regime put a stop in the history of the bookstore. Rare folios settled and scattered both in the archives of the region and in private collections. Because of this, today we do not have to talk about restoration and return of the past.
