Abstract: Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease and hypertensive disease – is the most common combination of abnormalities that occur in people suffering from metabolic syndrome. Their combination not only causes concurrent damage of the liver and the heart, caused by common pathogenic beginning, and also mutually complicate the disease course of each other. The leading role in the development of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease belongs to abdominal obesity and insulin resistance, and is seen as a manifestation of liver disease in metabolic syndrome. Genetic predisposition, lifestyle, improper nutrition, including excessive use of sodium chloride, lead to excessive formation of visceral adipose tissue with development of abdominal obesity, which is a likely criterion of insulin resistance. The long course of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease in combination with essential hypertension in excessive consumption of sodium chloride may negatively affect their quality of life
