Лірика О. Зуєвського: особливості художнього вираження образу України-батьківщини

Abstract

У статті досліджуються особливості художнього розкриття образу України-батьківщини в ліриці О. Зуєвського – україномовного поета Канади другої половини ХХ ст. Насамперед поет звертається до розкриття пейзажних образів, які співвідносяться з традиційними образами української літератури. У О. Зуєвського вони часто набирають символічного та метафоричного значення, як, наприклад, образи водних артерій України. Під час дослідження виявлено, що важливе місце у змалюванні образу України-батьківщини у творчості О. Зуєвського посідають мотиви туги за рідним краєм, неповернення на батьківщину, нездійсненності мрії та ін. Проте вони не є домінуючими у ліриці поета.

The article examines the features of the artistic expression of the image of Ukraine-motherland in the poetry by O. Zuievskyi – Ukrainian-Canadian poet of the second half of the 20th century. First of all poet enlightens the nature images, which are traditional in Ukrainian literature. They become symbols and metaphors in O. Zuievskyi’s poetry, e.g. images of Ukrainian water arteries. During analysis there was defined that the important role in the depiction of the image of Ukrainemotherland in the creativity of O. Zuievskyi play motives of nostalgia, inability to return to motherland, dream impracticabilities etc. But these motives are not dominant in lyrics of the poet.
