The article focuses on the linguopragmatic aspect o f zoosemic phraseologisms in English and Ukrainian, realized in such components as evaluative and emotive. Each o f their subgroups is illustrated by a number o f examples o f phraseological units, characterizing them within the scope o f “well/badfly)" fo r the evaluative component and "approval/disapproval"for the emotive one. A conclusion is made, that revealing the specificity o f meaning o f , basic emotive predicates is the most principal requirement fo r the description o f the Unguopragmatic contents ofzoosemic phraseologisms in both languages that are under comparison, the peculiarities o f which depend on the symbolic component in animal naming as well as the character o f relations between participants o f communication. Evaluation has a complicated structure. Erases with evaluative meanings are connected with valuable world reflection. Therefore, lexicology is represented by means o f the following notions: value — the essence o f the outword and mental world that acquired the assessment; assessment is the act o f human consciousness which consists in comparison o f objects, the confrontation o f properties, the definition o f the role in the living activities o f human beings and their results as fix ed up inconsciousness and kmguage in the form o f positive, negative or neutral attitude. Despite a close connection o f evaluation and emotionality in zäraseologisms, they are essentially different. The assessment is realized 'within a context o f thought, in a scope good/bad , that is them s e o fth e "modal frame ", peculiar to an utterance. Emotionality acts within the range o f approval — disapproval . For ihe formation phraseological emotionality one must have a figurative motivation, subdivided in ihe following subgroups. 1) approval, 2i disapproval; 3) contempt; 4) disrespec; 5) humiliation; 6) blame; 7) reproach. The subject-matter o f further studies o f tne linguopragmatic aspect o f zoosemic phraseological units may be comparative and confrontational analysis in English and Ukrainian tmguages. |
