Біблійні аспекти повісті Івана Чендея "Іван"

Abstract

У статті простежується проблематика, сюжет повісті «Іван» Івана Чендея. Досліджуються точки дотику Святого письма і художнього твору, що дає можливість зіставити повість із «Притчею про багатого та Лаза-ря»; окреслити властиві повісті риси біблійної притчі з параболічною складовою; розкрити у творі споконвічну про-блему боротьби добра і зла на історичному витку радянської доби; вказати на осмислення письменником категорій гріха, смертного гріха, каяття, спокути, відокремленості людини від свого народу; зауважити, що повторюване в повісті ім‘я Іван – веде нас до Першого соборного послання св. апостола Івана, яке й пояснює християнські цінності, від яких відходить герой твору; простежити символ хреста, наскрізний у повісті, що об‘єднує профанний час, яким живе Іван, та час сакральний, в системі координат якого перебувають герої, персонажі повісті Івана Чендея. За цим часом, очевидно, жив і сам письменник. Тому в різні роки та періоди його творчості, як пересвідчуємось, біблійні аспекти органічно присутні в його доробку.

The article deals with the themes and plot of Ivan Chendei‘s story ―Ivan‖. The intersection of the Bible and the story ―Ivan‖ have been analyzed. This analysis affords opportunity to trace the features of scriptural parable with parabolic component in the story ―Ivan‖, to discover primordial issue of prevention be-tween good and evil in time of soviet epoch, to show Ivan Chendei‘s artistic vision of sin, repentance and isola-tion of man from his people. The investigation of these topics makes possible to draw comparison between the story of Ivan Chendei and ―The Parable of the Rich Man and Lazarus‖. Author of an article focuses on thoughts about sin, expiation, mortal sin, repentance, remarks that name Ivan, constantly repeating in the story leads to the First Cathedral Epistle of St. John the Apostle which explaining Christian values but Chendei‘s hero steps aside from these values. The meaning of cross symbol in the story ―Ivan‖ was defined. The symbol unites profane time when Ivan lives and sacral time all heroes of the story stay in. Obviously, the writer himself had been living in sacral time. Therefore we trace the integral presence of biblical aspects in the works of Ivan Chendei at various periods of his creation.
