Abstract: Monitoring of the ecological state of the Luta river was carried out. The Luta river runs along the territory of the Velikoberezny and Perechyn districts Transcarpathian region. The quality of the Luta River water was estimated along its length at 6 points during 2017 and 2018. The source of the Luta river is formed by the confluence of many streams on the northeastern slope of the Polonyna Runa Mountain and flows into the River Uzh near the Dubrinichi railway station. Streams Bachava, Bistrita, Chechovaty, Lyutka and others are tributaries of the River Luta. The total length of the Luta River is 47 km. Agricultural lands, gardens and various recreation areas (Blue Lagoon, Sixth Kilometer, etc.) are located along the entire river. The seasonal assessment of thewater quality in the Luta river is carried out according to some hydrophysical (transparency, odor, color) and hydrochemical (pH, anions: nitrates, nitrites, ammonia, phosphates, sulfates, chlorides, general ferrum, total rigidity and permanganate oxidation). According to the results of experimental studies of the hydrophysical parameters of the Luta river, it was established that the transparency, smell and color of water at the time of sampling correspond to the normalized parameters and do not exceed the permissible values. For example, along the entire length of the river: the transparency index takes value within 30-15 cm, the smell is less than 2, the color is 5-15 degrees. The average values of hydrophysical indices for periods of the year vary in the following limits: transparency: 30-15 cm, odor: less than 2, color: 50 - winter period, 150 - autumn period. The water reaction pH does not exceed the maximum permissible norms for fishing waters and varies from 6.87 to 7.56 along the entire length of the river. The seasonal water reaction pH is 6.87 in the autumn period and 7.56 in the summer. The analysis of data on monitoring the Luta river water quality along the entire length and in different periods of the year shows that the normalized parameters characterizing surface water quality do not exceed the maximum permissible concentrations for fishing waters, indicating the first class and the 1-2 categories of water quality. Therefore, anthropogenic impact on the ecological status of the Luta River is minimal. The excess of the normalized values several times is observed only with the content of total iron. This is due to the feature of the geological area. Keywords: environmental monitoring; water quality; hydrochemical indicators; hydrophysical indices; anthropogenic influence.
