Abstract: Ukraine’s integration into the world economic space an important step towards which was accession to the WTO opened a wide range of opportunities for the country, including facilitated access to foreign markets, closer cooperation with member countries, promotion of fair competition and non-discriminatory resolving trade conflicts with them, as well as expanding opportunities to attract the investment and technology. The main objectives of the WTO are to gradually reduce the level of tariff and non-tariff barriers in trade relations between its member countries, including in order for developing countries to have a share in the growth of international trade that meets the needs of their economic development. However, there are cases when in order to ensure the sustainable development of the national economy of such a country to strengthen the position of the national producer and its potential in the international market it is appropriate to establish these barriers or keep them at the existing level.
