Abstract

Європейський Союз – це економічний та політичний союз 28 державчленів, що розташовані здебільшого у Європі. З початку свого існування Європейський Союз ріс, міцнішав, утворивши до того часу небачений та невідомий тип держави – наддержаву. Заявивши про себе як впливового актора в міжнародному житті, Європейський Союз став конкурентом Сполученим Штатам Америки. Сполучені Штати Америки, після розпаду біполярної системи, є найпотужнішою державою в світі. Вони мають великий вплив на політику інших держав, організацій. Статтю присвячено аналізу взаємовідносин Сполучених Штатів та Європейського Союзу в сучасному світі, в період обрання нових облич в ЄС, та вплив новообраних посадовців на стосунки наддержав.

The European Union is an economic and political union of 28 Member States, mainly located in Europe. Since its inception, the European Union has grown, strengthened, forming until then an unprecedented and unknown type of state – the superpower. Having declared itself as an influential actor in international life, the European Union has become a competitor to the United States of America. The United States, after the collapse of the bipolar system, is the most powerful nation in the world. They have a great influence on the policies of other states and organizations. The article deals with the analysis of relations between the United States and the European Union in the modern world, during the election of new faces in the EU, and the influence of newly elected officials on the relations of the superpowers. Today, the European Union and the United States have close relations in almost all areas, namely political, economic, security etc. These relationships were formed naturally because Europe and the United States of America share a unique historical and cultural heritage. They are characterized by the same political values and democratic principles. The main points of contact for them are the protection of human rights, democratization, stability and security, the general economic and social development of countries. US-EU bilateral relations play a crucial role in world politics. Most decisions on the development of the human community on a planetary scale are made by these two players.
