Документи Архіву Синоду Сербської православної церкви про місіонерську роботу єпископа Досифея (Васича) на Підкарпатській Русі

Abstract

Вперше в українській та зарубіжній історіографії детально аналізуються документи Архіву Синоду Сербської Православної Церкви (далі – СПЦ) про місіонерську діяльність єпископа Нішського Досифея (Васича) на Підкарпатській Русі на початку 1920-х рр. Єпископу було доручено упорядкувати церковне життя в краї. Цю місію він виконував з перервами від 1921 р. до 1926 р. У звітах до Священного Синоду та листах до Патріарха Димітрія (Павловича) архієрей описує складні процеси, які переживав православний рух серед закарпатців. У статті автор детально реконструює обставини початку місіонерської роботи в Чехословаччині, вказує на причини, які гальмували початок місії, називає основних противників Православної Церкви. Значна увага приділена статистичним відомостям, які наводяться у документах та ролі окремих діячів у справі становлення єпархії. У єпископських звітах та листах згадуються імена архімандрита Олексія (Кабалюк), ієромонахів Амфілохія (Кемінь), Матфея (Вакаров), протоієреїв Касіяна Богатирця, Іоанна Ілечка, Михайла Мейгеша, церковного активіста Володимира Гомічкова та ін. Проведене дослідження дозволяє прийти до висновків, що фонди Архіву Синоду СПЦ в Белграді містять ряд цінних документів, що відображають місіонерську роботу єпископа Досифея. Проаналізовані джерела свідчать про дипломатичне протистояння сербів та чехів щодо визнання сербської юрисдикції, непослідовність Синоду СПЦ з питання призначення постійного єпископа на Підкарпаття, внутрішні суперечки в середовищі православного духовенства. Автор зазначає, що єпископу Досифею належить значна роль в утвердженні Православної Церкви на Закарпатті. Завдяки його роботі було засновано кілька православних монастирів, висвячено перших ієромонахів та священиків, проведено перемовини з урядом у Празі щодо офіційного визнання Карпаторуської Православної Церкви та створення постійної Мукачівсько-Пряшівської єпархії.

For the first time, Ukrainian and foreign historiography analyzes in detail the documents of the Archive of the Synod of the Serbian Orthodox Church on the missionary activity of the Bishop of Niš Dosifey (Vasich) in Subcarpathian Rus in the early 1920s. The bishop was charged with organizing church life in the province. He performed this mission intermittently from 1921 to 1926. In reports to the Holy Synod and letters to Patriarch Dimitry (Pavlovich), the bishop describes the complex processes that the Orthodox movement among Transcarpathians experienced. The publication thoroughly reconstructs the circumstances of the beginning of missionary work in Czechoslovakia, indicates the reasons that prevented the bishop from starting the assigned task, and quoted from the reports that identify the perpetrators of the delay. The author pays special attention to the statistical data presented in the documents, the role of individual actors in the formation of diocese. The reports mention the names of Archimandrite Alexy (Kabalyuk), Hieromonk Amphilochius (Kemina), Matthew (Vakarov), Archpriest Kassian Bogatyrtsya, Ioann Ilechko, Mikhail Meygesh, church activist Vladimir Gomichkov and others. The study made it possible to conclude that the funds of the Archives of the Synod of the SOC in Belgrade contain a number of valuable documents reflecting the missionary work of Bishop Dosifey. Analyzed sources indicate a diplomatic confrontation between Serbs and Czechs in the context of recognition of Serbian jurisdiction, inconsistency of the Synod of the SOC to decide on the appointment of a permanent bishop in Subcarpathians, internal disputes among the Orthodox clergy. The author notes that Bishop Dosifey has a significant role in the approval of the Orthodox Church in Transcarpathia. Thanks to his work was founded several Orthodox monasteries, ordained by the first hieromonk and priests, negotiations were held with the government in Prague on the official recognition of the Karpatruskaya Orthodox Church and the creation of a permanent Mukachevo-Pryashev diocese.
