Abstract: | The article attempts to cover the history of Transcarpathia through the prism of the historical and political concept of the prominent Ukrainian historian, political scientist and public and political figure Mykhailo Petrovych Drahomanov. The authors argue that the scientist formed his own concept of development of the future Ukrainian state on a federal basis. Criticizing baseless accusations of M. Drahomanov by his contemporaries, the authors argue that the idea of the unity of Ukrainian communities and constant relations between Ukrainians in Transcarpathia and Eastern Galicia runs through the scientist’s legacy. The article also emphasizes the consequences of the bourgeois revolution of 1848-1849 |
