Функції топоніма як компонента термінологічного словосполучення

Abstract

Мета статті – вивчення під кутом когнітивної лінгвістики топонімів як компонентів термінологічних одиниць на матеріалі англійської та латинської мов. Об’єкт – медична термінологічна підсистема «Інфектологія». Предмет дослідження – інформаційна та ідентифікуюча ролі топонімів на позначення спеціальних понять в інфектології. Матеріал дослідження – довідники та кількамовні медичні енциклопедичні словники. Методи дослідження: метод вибірки, описовий, аналізу, соціолінгвістичний. Топоніми відображають соціально закріплені уявлення про локальні розміщення певного розряду денотатів дійсності. Найменування віддзеркалюють зафіксоване в лексичній одиниці сприймання людиною фрагменту дійсності, формування моделі частини світу як результат її когнітивної і практичної діяльності. Як компонент термінологічного словосполучення, топонімійна назва вказує на місце виявлення інфекційного захворювання і містить різні відомості про: джерело інфекції (фактори навколишнього середовища, тварини, антропонози, що властиві певній місцевості, певному середовищу); механізм розвитку та прояв хвороби на цій території. Висновки: топоніми у складі термінологічного словосполучення виконують інформаційну роль, висвітлюють соціально-пізнавальний досвід, накопичений людиною у процесі еволюції наукових і суспільних знань. Окрім того, топоніми виконують уточнювальну функцію; виділяють захворювання, носія інфекції за більш або менш суттєвими ознаками з низки йому подібних і покликані ідентифікувати та індивідуалізувати позначуване поняття. Практична значимість дослідження полягає в поглибленому вивченні специфіки формування сучасної термінологічної підсистеми латинської та англійської фахової мов галузі «Інфектологія».

The purpose of the article is to study the role of toponyms as components of terminological units based on the material of English and Latin languages. The object of the article is medical clinical terminological subsystem of “Infectology”. The subject of the research is the informational and identifying role of toponyms for designating special concepts in medical clinical subsystem of “Infectology”. The research material were reference books and multilingual medical encyclopaedic dictionaries. The used research methods were: the sampling method, the descriptive method, the method of analysis and sociolinguistic method. Toponyms reflect socially fixed ideas about the local placements of a certain category of reality denotations. The names reflect a fragment of reality fixed in the lexical unit of perception by a person, the formation of a model of a part of the world as a result of its cognitive and practical activities. As a component of terminological collocation, the toponymic name indicates the place of detection of the infectious disease and contains various information about: the source of the infection (environmental factors, animals, anthroponoses that are inherent in a particular area, a certain environment); the mechanism of development and manifestation of the disease in this territory. Finding: Toponyms in the composition of terminological collocations play an informational role, light up the social and cognitive experience, accumulated by a person in the process of scientific and public knowledge evolution. In addition, toponyms perform a clarifying function; they isolate the disease, the carrier of infection with more or less significant features from a number of similar ones and are designed to identify and individualize the designated concept. The practical significance of the research lies in the in-depth study of the modern terminological subsystem formation specifics of Latin and English professional language of “Infectology”. Practical value can be applied for writing educational and methodical literature in Latin and English for future specialists in the medical field of knowledge.
