Реалізація біблійних образів-символів у комісивних nа експресивних мовленнєвих актах у містичних трилерах Френка Перетті

Abstract

У статті розглядається специфіка реалізації біблійних образів-символів у комісивних та експресивних мовленнєвих актах у містичних трилерах американського письменника епохи постмодернізму Френка Перетті, світогляд якого грунтується на протестантизмі. Дослідження проведено на матеріалі таких творів, як “This Present Darkness” / «Темрява віку цього» (1986), “Piercing the Darkness” / «Пронизуючи темряву» (1988), “Prophet” / «Пророк» (1992), “The Oath” / «Клятва» (1995), “The Visitation” / «Візит» (1999). Методи когнітивної прагматики, зокрема методи контент-аналізу, конверсаційного аналізу та функційно-прагматичного аналізу, залучено для визначення особливостей актомовленнєвої реалізації біблійних образів-символів у досліджуваних текстах. Комісивні мовленнєві акти представлено в містичних трилерах Френка Перетті повідомленнями попередження, бажання, планування, обіцянки та гарантії. Експресивні мовленнєві акти представлено повідомленнями вибачення та прославлення. У кожному типі мовленнєвого акту біблійні образи-символи, лінгвально репрезентовані в персонажних біблійно-маркованих контекстах, виражають найбільш значущі ідеї та настанови художнього твору. У комісивах попередження, бажання, планування, обіцянки та гарантії – попередити людство про небезпеку гріха й акцентувати на тому, що спасіння може отримати лише той, хто керується Словом Божим (біблійні образи-символи «змій», «хрест», «посох»). В експресивних мовленнєвих актах вибачення та прославлення – наголосити на необхідності прощення за гріхи та прославляння Ісуса за диво спасіння, прийнявши Його смерть як акт визволення від гріха (біблійні образи-символи «Ісус Христос» і «Агнець»).

The article deals with the specificity of the realization of biblical images-symbols in commissive and expressive speech acts in the mystical thrillers by Frank Peretti, the American postmodernism writer, whose worldview is based on Protestantism (Christianity) “This Present Darkness” (1986), “Piercing the Darkness” (1988), “Prophet” (1992), “The Oath”, “The Visitation” (1999). The purpose is to determine the realization of biblical images-symbols in commissive and expressive speech acts. The methodology of cognitive pragmatics, in particular methods of content analysis, conversion analysis, and functionalpragmatic analysis, provided an opportunity to study speech acts implemented in analyzed biblically-marked contexts that were extracted from the mystical thrillers by Frank Peretti. The commissive speech acts are presented by by notifications of warning, desire, planning, promises, and guarantee; the expressives – by messages of apology and glorification. In each type of speech act, biblical images-symbols, linguistically represented in biblically-marked contexts, express the most significant ideas and guidelines of the artistic work. In the commissions of warning, desire, planning, promises, and guarantees, biblical images-symbols are used to prevent mankind from the danger of sin and emphasize that only those who are guided by the Word of God can receive salvation (biblical images-symbols of the “serpent”, “cross”, “staff”). In the expressive speech acts of apology and praise, they emphasize the need for forgiveness for sins and the glorification of Jesus for the miracle of salvation, taking His death as an act of deliverance from sin (biblical images-symbols “Jesus Christ” and “Lamb”).
