Селянський страйк 1902 р. в Галичині та польсько–українські взаємини

Abstract

In this article the author analyzes social-economic aspect of polish-ukrainian relations in Galicia of beginning of the XX century. The main idea of the article lies in the conforming, that the creation of conceptions of Polish and Ukrainian Piedmonts had the economic preconditions. The polish conception lied in the preservation of the great land property and in the enlargement of the number of the prosperous peasant households. It was possible owing to handing of land allotments to the polish colonists. The Ukrainian conception foresaw the smashing of the great polish land property for the Ukrainian peasants. The embodiment of the both conceptions was able only in the conditions of the creation of the Polish and Ukrainian states. The mutual discrepancy of those conceptions gave rise to the Polish-Ukrainian war 1918-1919 and the national enmity on the so-called polish “eastern outskirts” in 20-30-th of XX century.
