Альтернативна історія у драматичній поемі Юрія Косача "Облога": між домислом і вимислом

Abstract

Стаття присвячена аналізу провідних закономірностей витворення альтернативного бачення подій української історії в драматичній поемі Юрія Косача «Облога». Виявлено, що драматична поема «Облога» стала зразком поетичного синтезу історії, вимислу й домислу. Автор відтворив у своєму творі історичні події Сучавської оборони 1653 року, широко висвітлив зв’язки українських гетьманів із європейськими володарями того часу, намагання Тимоша Хмельницького створити коаліцію проти румунсько-польських нападів. Встановлено, що «Облога» – не просто драматична поема, а драма-мораліте, у якій фабула підпорядкована моралізаційній, дидактичній домінанті. Відзначено, що навіть канонічна історична наука нерідко допускає неоднозначні тлумачення різних подій, включно із цілком протилежною їхньою інтерпретацією та різними припущеннями й умовностями. Адже відшукування в минулому фактів, які б підтверджували органічність європейського статусу України, було єдиним засобом для письменників міжвоєнної доби повернути історію Батьківщини у світовий цивілізаційний процес. Визначено, що під час створення драматичної поеми «Облога» Юрій Косач вдавався до синтезу історичної правди, вимислу й домислу. Письменник акцентує увагу на тому, що українські гетьмани мали міцні зв’язки з європейськими правителями того часу, про що свідчить опис намагань Тимоша Хмельницького зі створення коаліції проти нападів румунів та поляків. Як і всюди у своїх драматичних творах, Юрій Косач затверджує глибинну настанову взаємозв’язку та синтезу двох культур – західної та української, за допомогою зображення маловідомих історичних подій акцентує увагу на тому, що ці культури тісно взаємопов’язані. Трансформація історичних фактів доби Хмельниччини дозволяють авторові витлумачити їх відповідно до подій сучасності. Такий підхід робить можливим творення нових художніх образів на основі переосмислених подій вітчизняної історії, що дозволяє вписати Україну та українство в контекст неперервного європейського буття.

The article is devoted to the analysis of the leading patterns of creating an alternative vision of the events of Ukrainian history in the dramatic poem “The Siege” by Yury Kosach. It is revealed that the dramatic poem “The Siege” became an example of a poetic synthesis of history, fiction and speculation. The author reproduces in his work the historical events of the Suceava defense in 1653, broadly covering the links between the Ukrainian hetmans and the European rulers of that time, the efforts of Tymish Khmelnytsky to form a coalition against the Romanian-Polish attacks. It is established that “Siege” is not just a dramatic poem, but a drama-morality, in which the plot is subordinate to the moralizing, didactic dominance. It is noted that even canonical historical science often allows for ambiguous interpretations of different events, including the exact opposite of their interpretation and different assumptions and conventions. After all, finding in the past facts that would confirm the organic status of Ukraine’s European status was the only means for writers of the interwar period to return the history of the Motherland to the world civilization process. It is determined that when creating the dramatic poem “The Siege” by Yury Kosach resorted to the synthesis of historical truth, fiction and conjecture. The writer emphasizes that the Ukrainian hetmans had strong ties with European rulers of the time, as evidenced by the description of Tymish Khmelnytsky’s efforts to create a coalition against the attacks of Romanians and Poles. Like everywhere else in his dramatic works, Yury Kosach affirms the deep establishment of the interconnection and synthesis of the two cultures – Western and Ukrainian, with the help of depictions of littleknown historical events that emphasize that these cultures are closely interrelated. The transformation of the historical facts of the Khmelnytsky’s era allow the author to interpret them according to the events of the present. Such an approach makes it possible to create new artistic images on the basis of rethinking the events of national history, which allows to enter Ukraine and Ukrainians into the context of a continuous European existence.
