Основні віхи релігійного розвитку Мукачівського монастиря

Abstract

В статье исследуются основные этапы формирования и деятельности Мукачевского монастыря на территории современного Закарпатья. Институциональное развитие монашества рассматривается со времени создания Мукачевского монастыря (ХIV в.) до периода ликвидации обителей в советское время (1950 г.). Иной аспект исследования связан с религиозно-культурным развитием. В исследовании определён вклад ва-силиан в развитие церковных институций, образования, искусства и науки Закарпатья.

Such religious institutes as Basilian monasterys played a very important role in the Transcarpathian his-tory. Basilian monasterys, besides its religious activities, provided also cultural and educational ones. The schools and libraries were attached to the monastery and the monks carried on educational work. Up to the end of the 19th century this religious institutes (monasterys) played an extremely significant part in the religious and cultural life of our ancestors. Ordo Saint Basilii Magni was the order, which gave the birth to such famous (and pioneers in their fields) scientists as A.Kotsak, Y.Bazylovych or A.Kralytskyy.
