| Abstract: | У статті досліджено традиції української новелістики кінця ХІХ — початку ХХ століть у “малій” прозі І. Чендея. Особливості новелістики автора проаналізовано в межах екзистенційних орієнтацій української лі- тератури кінця ХІХ — початку ХХ століть шляхом аналізу екзистенційних модусів надії, життєвого вибору, пам’яті, відповідальності тощо. | Description: | The traditions of the Ukrainian novellas of the end of the XIX-th – beginning of the XX-th century in small prose of I. Chendey are analyzed in the article. The peculiarities of small prose of I. Chendey are analysed in the sphere of the existential orientations of the Ukrainian literature at the turn of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries and are investigated with the help of existentional problems of hope, choice, recollection, carefulness. Key words: tradition, short story, image, symbol, chronotopos, existentialism, existence. |
